This is a short film that I have made for the 8th National Science Film Festival Of India conducted by VIGYAN PRASAR.
Plot:
At first, Paghgalavan arrives with his dad in his school. Then, the chemistry teacher was taking class and all the students were ready for the P. T. period. As soon as the bell rang and the teacher left, the students moved to the playground. But they forgot to switch off the lights. Another teacher sees this and says this to the chemistry teacher. Meanwhile, Paghalavan and Dhanesh were playing in the playground while the teacher sees them and calls them. Then she advised them. When Paghalavan came to the home, Dhanesh called him to the park. When Paghalavan was leaving, he forgot to switch the lights off and was scolded by his father. Meanwhile, Dhaneshβs mother scolded him for the same reason. When they met in the park, they both discussed about the incident and planned to create a device for power conservation. They finally settled on the PIR Sensor model and Paghalavan said that heβll prepare it in a week. Paghalavan prepares the device in a week and names it PIRSCEAA (PIR Sensor Controlled Electrical Appliance Automation). He surprises his dad by fixing it in his room. The next day Paghalavan and Dhanesh explains it in their classroom. Then they were congratulated by the teacher and all the classmates.

In the quest to go green, Scotland is way ahead of the rest of the UK, with nearly all electricity produced by wind power.
In October, 98% of Scotland’s electricity was produced by wind turbines, with the devolved government on track to produce all of its electricity from renewable sources by 2020.
But what is it about Scotland that makes it so much more successful at being green than the rest of the UK?

Shahzeen Attari’s TEDxBloomington talk conveys her research focusing on the psychology of resource consumption. Her work at the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs seeks to understand how people think about their use resources and what factors motivate conservation of electricity and water. Her paper entitled “Public perceptions of energy consumption and savings” published in the Proceedings of the National Academies of Sciences saw attention from mainstream media outlets, including The Economist, New York Times, CNN, and BBC. She holds a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering & Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, and a B.S. in Engineering Physics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
