“Lithium-ion batteries can react poorly if your phone experiences elevated temperatures, leading to a damaging effect,” explains Shane. “If you have a case on your device that does not allow heat to escape, this heat will increase the temperature of the battery and will cause cell oxidation, which will shrink the capacity and shorten the lifespan.”
“The sweet spot for lithium-ion batteries is to keep them charged between 50 and 80 percent. This allows for the charged ions to continue to work and protect the life of your battery,” says Shane. “Charging your device in short spurts throughout the day will give these ions just enough energy to keep them going.”

I’m sure you’ve read about how you can improve your Android device’s battery life. Things such as overcharging are one of many things that can shorten your battery’s lifespan but set a charging limit on Android smartphone is a life saver. If you do your homework and follow the many tips out there, your phone’s battery should last for quite some time.
ResearchGate found that if you only charge your phone’s battery to 85%, it will last longer than if you charge 100%. But, it can be almost a mission impossible trying to guess at what time the battery will reach 85%. Good thing that there’s an app that will prevent your phone from being charged over the threshold you set up.
In order for this to work you’re going to need a rooted Android device, Unknown Sources enabled and Android 4.4 or higher. If you meet all the requirements, the next thing you need to do is run a small test to see if the app will work on your phone. Nothing can ruin your mood faster than having a low battery on your phone and no charger in sight. To avoid the mini panic attack we all have when that happens, try these 13 secret simple tricks to prolong your phone’s battery life.
Pretty much all mobile apps send you Push-notifications. Taking advantage of this function eats up a lot of your phone’s energy and kills the battery.
Instead of using vibration, leave your phone on silent or use the ringtone setting with the volume turned down as low as possible.
The minimum option for auto-lock is usually 15-30 seconds, but some models even allow you to set it to 10. It works miracles when it comes to saving battery. Airplane mode does the same. What’s also cool about it is that if you keep it on while your phone’s charging, your battery will get full faster.
Letting the battery run all the way down actually damages it. That’s because modern lithium-based batteries are specifically made to be charged in short quick sessions. If that’s what they’re designed for, then we should do it that way.
When you choose 4G in the settings, both 4G and 3G radios are switched on, which is why your phone loses charge two times faster. So if you really need to save the battery, turn off 4G or even 3G and go with 2G instead.
Batteries produced by other companies usually cost less, but they’re also optimized worse than original ones, and this can harm your device. It’s better to pay more once than spend a fortune repairing your phone.

-Turn off notifications from apps you rarely use. Keeping Bluetooth, WiFi, infrared capabilities, and GPS switched off until you need to use them does a lot for your battery life as well.
-If you want to conserve energy on your phone, switch off the vibrate function.
-If you really want your battery to serve you longer, put auto-lock on the shortest time available in your settings.
-Turn the screen’s brightness to the lowest setting possible or at least as close to it as you can while still being able to see everything.
-Auto app updates consume a lot of your phone’s charge since the upgrades can be pretty big.
-If you urgently need to save what little battery you have left, switch off not only Bluetooth, WiFi, and similar features, but 3G/LTE as well.
-A quick way to switch off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and mobile data is to put your phone on airplane mode.
-If you notice the signal isn’t perfect, just turn on airplane mode to prevent your phone from wasting battery searching for it.
-Letting the battery run all the way down actually damages it, so don’t wait for your phone to “die” before charging it.
-If your battery is running down, avoid using additional functions, like the camera.
-The longer you talk, the faster your battery drains. So keep it short if you don’t want your phone to go black on you.
-4G gives you a faster connection, but it uses a lot of juice to provide you with such outstanding service.
-Go for a black background – when the picture is black, all the pixels are off, so your phone doesn’t have to use its energy to light them.
-Use official batteries from your phone’s manufacturer. Prepare a new battery for use. Don’t skip on software updates. Avoid really low and high temperatures.
